Redheads have always been accused of having a temper.  This blog is a journey into the mind of a redhead; decide for yourself if we have a temper or are just frustrated by what we see...

THE RED MENACE

Go to sites like Fox News or Wall Street Journal and look in the comments section.  Besides a barrage of complaints about Obama and the Dems "socialist" agenda, there are quite a few who specifically assert that Obama and the Dems are deliberately using every opportunity they can to take from the rich and give to the poor.  They seem to think as if the sole reasoning behind Obama's actions is some kind of conspiracy against the wealthy.  I have one thing to say to them- GET OVER YOURSELVES!  The world, national politics included, does NOT revolve around you and your interests!  There are other people, other people with needs just as valid as yours, in this country.

Maybe it's hard for them to adjust, when the last 8 years HAS been about them, where the needs of the "free market", AKA corporate America and the people who run and support it, has been top priority.  The return of trickle down economics during the Bush Administration turned focus back to the top of the food chain (as though they couldn't take care of themselves anyway.)  Well, pyramid and Ponzi schemes work from the top down too.  Considering that the vast majority of us are not at the top, even if what the conspiracy theorist say is true, why should the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the majority, especially since the minority in this case have the means to defend their interests far better than any of us in the majority do?

Conspiracy theory aside, I think what really bothers them is that they are simply not top priority any more.  There is no conspiracy, no conscious attempt to drag them down, the truth is that in the larger scheme of Obama's agenda, they don't matter any more than we do.  It's not that Obama hates the wealthy (after all he is one), he just likes everyone else more.  Socialists, in their literature, turn every layoff into some kind of deliberate statement against the worker.  The truth is even worse; the worker is nothing more than a number that fits into the bottom line, it's the bottom line that is the most important factor of all.  In either case, there's delusion of grandeur and inflated self-worth.

The wealthy in this country are so used to being catered to and fawned over by all because of their money that they forget they are equals, not superiors, to everyone else under the Constitution.  And the fact that their needs are being put on a plane with everyone else's just steams them to no end.  Kind of funny, I think.

Well, even if Obama crashes and burns, at least I got a good laugh!
